Two Accidents Lead to Traffic Jams for Knox County Motorists

Knox County, TN (September 24, 2020) Knoxville law enforcement reports that two accidents occurred on the morning of September 24th that resulted in traffic delays for motorists. One of these accidents occurred around 6 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 East at the Interstate 640 interchange. Due to the accidents, two lanes of Interstate 40 East were closed for more than an hour. Additionally, several lanes were closed on Alcoa Highway at the U.S. Marine Center after an accident around 8 a.m. that left traffic backed up even though one lane remained open.
