Officials report injury accident involved a tractor

On Oct. 27, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that a Washington County traffic accident involving a tractor resulted in the hospitalization of one of the drivers. The incident reportedly took place on Old State Route 34 in Jonesborough.

According to the THP, a tractor hauling a load of hay collided with a 1992 Buick at approximately 2 p.m., when the tractor driver attempted to pull out of a field onto the roadway. The driver of the tractor, a 27-year-old man, did not suffer any injuries in the wreck, but the 76-year-old driver of the Buick did, officials reported. The Buick driver received aerial transport to a hospital with injuries that officials described as serious.

As this particular case demonstrates, traffic accidents may have harmful consequences. Even collisions that occur at low speeds can generate enough force to inflict severe injuries upon the motorists involved.
