Motorcyclist Trapped Under SUV Following Crash
Murfreesboro, TN (November 7, 2020) First responders recently acknowledged several civilians with saving a motorcyclist’s life after the motorcyclist was trapped under an SUV following a crash on November 7th. To ultimately lift the SUV off the injured motorcyclist, the civilians relied on car jacks. The accident occurred on Mall Circle Drive close to the Home Depot. The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department also arrived within minutes of the emergency calls and helped to lift the vehicle off the motorcyclist through the use of hydraulic equipment and wooden blocks. The motorcyclist as well as three bystanders were then transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of injuries. Additional details about the extent of these injuries as well as what caused the accident are still under investigation.
The Insurance Information Institute reports that in 2017, 5,172 motorcyclist fatalities occurred, and 89,000 injuries occurred due to motorcycle accidents. Many of these accidents involved motorcyclists who ended up in collision with passenger vehicles because drivers failed to spot the motorcyclist, and some of these accidents involved motorcyclists who ended up pinned or trapped under vehicles.
