Medical Workers Respond to Car Crash on Creston Road

shutterstock_717419434

Cumberland County, TN (March 27, 2021) Cumberland County law enforcement and medical workers responded to the scene of a vehicle accident on March 27th on Creston Road at Maynard Road.

The report provided by law enforcement states that the driver of a Mazda failed to stop because a stop sign was partially obstructed by a tree. The driver struck the brakes and slid across Creston Road before colliding with the tree. The road surface was wet at the time from rain.

The injured driver was subsequently transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Federal Highway Administration has found that on average, approximately 5,000 individuals are killed and more than 418,000 individuals are injured in weather-related crashes each year.

Fortunately, drivers can follow some helpful strategies to avoid accidents in the rain. First, motorists should make sure to go slow and remember that despite rain, brakes still work better if they do not need to contend with a high speed. Understand your route in advance because you’re more likely to end up in an accident if you end up driving while distracted.
