Man Flown to Trauma Center After Cumberland County Crash

Cumberland County, TN (November 23, 2020) The Tennessee Highway Patrol as well as emergency workers responded to avehicle crash at the 314 eastbound mile marker of Interstate 40 in Cumberland County late in the afternoon of November 24th.

Law enforcement states that the driver of a Chevy Corvette was traveling at an accelerated speed when he lost control of his vehicle, went down an embankment, and collided with several trees before finally coming to a stop. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was seriously injured in the crash. He was then flown by Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Law enforcement states that charges are pending against the driver. It remains uncertain whether anyone else was injured in the crash.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has found that in 2019, the national use rate for seatbelts was 90.7%. Remember, not wearing a seatbelt can turn car crashes deadly.
