Cumberland County, TN (March 22, 2021) First responders in Cumberland County went to the scene of a two vehicle crash on March 20th. The accident occurred on Casteel Road close to Sisco Road.

The report provided by law enforcement states that the accident occurred when the driver of a Toyota Sedan went into a curve in the wrong lane and ended up colliding with an oncoming GMC pickup truck head-on. Following the collision between the two vehicles, the Toyota rolled backwards, exited the road, and collided with several trees. Both drivers as well as passengers located in each vehicle were restrained at the time of the accident and not injured in the collision. An investigation into the accident, which will hopefully reveal what caused the crash, is still pending. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while passing through the area.

The Insurance Information Institute has found that head on collisions were the first harmful event in 3,651 deadly car crashes that occurred in 2018. This represented 10.8 percent of total deadly crashes.
