Fiery accident in Tennessee injures 2
Reportedly, two women were injured in a Nov. 7 car accident in Bristol. Police suspect one of the drivers involved in the crash was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on State Street near the State Route 126 intersection, reportedly. That is where an eastbound Toyota Sequoia came to a stop at a traffic light and was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Avalanche with a 41-year-old driver, officials said. As a result of the collision, the Sequoia caught fire.
The 28-year-old woman driving the Sequoia suffered injuries in the crash. However, it was not immediately clear what injuries she suffered. Furthermore, emergency personnel had to pull a 37-year-old female passenger from the Avalanche following the crash. The extent of her injuries was not clear immediately after the incident either.
Police charged the 41-year-old driver of the Avalanche with DUI, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of felony reckless endangerment, possession of a handgun while intoxicated, possession of a handgun without a license and driving without a license. He was booked into Sullivan County Jail. Records indicated that the man had been arrested for DUI on four previous occasions, purportedly.
