Dump Truck Driver Injured in Putnam County Accident
Putnam County, TN (September 22, 2020) A single vehicle accident occurred on Highway 70 North in Putnam County late in the morning of September 22 that left one driver injured. Law enforcement reports that a dump truck traveling west exited the right side of the road and came back onto the asphalt, which caused the truck to roll over. As a result of the accident, the truck was left blocking the west bound lane. The injured driver was transported to a medical facility in Livingston for care of minor injuries.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration reports that in 2017, dump truck accidents resulted in 5,621 crashes involving injuries. This might seem like a substantial number of accidents, but this represented only 10 of the large truck crashes that occurred in 2017.
