Drunk Driver Collides with Tree in Greeneville

Greeneville, TN (December 5, 2020) An intoxicated motorist struck a tree on December 5th. Law enforcement then responded to an accident at the intersection of Holly Creek Road and Mount Bethel Road around 8:00 am. At the time that law enforcement arrived, the driver was outside of the vehicle and unsteady on his feet. Once the intoxicated man spotted law enforcement, he got into his vehicle and placed it in reverse. Law enforcement, however, blocked the driver. The driver then had a difficult time following directions during a field sobriety test. A dog was found within the vehicle and Animal Control removed the animal from the scene. The driver was later charged with driving under the influence.
