Airborne Crash in Roane County Results in Injuries

Roane County, TN (January 31, 2021) The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that a car crash resulted in injuries in Roane County on January 31st. The accident occurred when the driver of a Nissan Rogue was traveling south on Dogwood Valley Road when she lost control of her vehicle and exited the road. The car then collided with an embankment, became airborne, struck several trees, and landed on the passenger side. A 2-year-old passenger was not adequately restrained at the time of the crash and incurred injuries as a result. The driver currently faces charges.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has found that trees are the most commonly struck object on the road. Forty-eight percent of fatalities in fixed object crashes in 2018 involved motorists who struck trees.
