2 Injured After Greene County Accident
County, TN (August 27, 2020) Two people were sent to the hospital following a multiple vehicle accident that occurred on the morning of August 27th. Based on a crash report provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Highway 107 close to the cutoff at 5:30 a.m. when a Toyota Camry was turning left from Highway 107 West onto the 107 cutoff and the vehicle turned into the path of a Hyundai Accent. The Hyundai’s driver was injured and taken to the Johnson City Emergency Room. The Toyota’s driver was also injured and taken to Greeneville East Community Hospital. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that both drivers were wearing seatbelts and that neither driver currently has charges pending.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that in 2015 more than 2.5 motor vehicle drivers and passengers each year are treated in emergency departments due to injuries incurred in car crashes.
